Bought this tv from John Lewis online about 3weeks ago.It cost me £649.00 plus I got a free 5 year guarantee with it.
This tv is not all singing and dancing but delivers a very good picture at a more than reasonable price.Coupled with the guarantee from JL it is possibly the best bargain on the web.
Sound and connectivity are reasonable. The freeview Tuner works fine and the remote is pretty easy to navigate. The 42" screen looks great and for anyone worried about what size to get I would say go for 42" as after a few days it starts to look smaller and you will be pleased you never got the 37".As a guide to view a 42" your nearest seat should be no closer than about 3 metres (which mine is)from there and further away it looks great.
To Conclude - If you can get a similar deal on this tv to mine as above you have got an absolute bargain. After searching the web for a plasma (plasma better than lcd if you enjoy sport or other fast moving images)of reasonable quality without breaking the bank this was by far the best option and I would buy it again tomorrow.

i purchased this product from j.lewis as it carried a five year warrnty, and the write up promised razor sharp images, well i must admit i watched spiderman and was gobsmacked at the clarity and colours produced, but on the otherhand i was disappointed at live broadcasts which seem bland by comparison,it seems as though faces are not quite in focus and are blurred, and older films and broadcasts (probably anologue in origin)look decidedly weak and bland, but i must admit some programs look superb.at the moment coronation street is on and the clarity is second to none, but eastenders earlier did'nt look the part at all,is this just me or is there different broadcasts being put out by different channels,or is it how plasmas work?.but overall i am impressed, and as one reviewer said the picture seems to get better the longer the set is on,we will see!

i bought this product as it claimed the comb filter gave a razor sharp image, which it does as long as the subject on the tv is either stationery or close up,but everything in the background is rather blurry, this also happens when the subjet is moving too.also the preset picture programmes are`that great, they are eithet too strong in colour, too dull or the picture quality was`nt razor sharp as claimed.the screen and top rear of the tv omit a bit of heat to.i have to admit i have seen worse but i was looking forward to my first plasma only to feel let down as i was expecting a lot more especially from a philips product!
  • Pros: close up pictures superb,stylish looking,easy set up&use
  • Cons: background picture blurry&blurry when its a moving picture
